Dearest Darling,

It was swell to hear your voice again the other night but wish it hadn't been across 900 miles of good old U.S.A.  Even though we've only a month or so to wait its still too long for this G.I.

'Got your letter this afternoon— 'Darling I wish we could be married at home too, but don't see how in the heck we can swing it. I'm glad you talked our Moms into agreeing to your coming down here 'cause as you said, even though I might be able to talk Cawley into a pass I couldn't afford what it would cost for me to come home. It isn't just the R.R. tickets, but there's always a million and one things that add up to quite a sum. Then too I wouldn't know whether I could or couldn't get a pass 'till just a few days before and that would make things more indefinite.

Let's plan on June 5th and not worry too much about whether the division is going to move or not. You do exactly what you want to at home and I'll make the arrangements down here. It goes without saying that anything you decide is 100% O.K. with me. I'll have to see the Chaplain down here and see what arrangements he wants me to make. As soon as I find out anything new I'll let you know, but right now everything is about as it was when I talked with you.

How's the new job? Who are you working for in the office? I remember when I worked down in the mailing department one summer and didn't like it at all. The only consolation was that I was also taking visitors through the shops and I could get out a couple of times a day.

Well, darling I've got to get back to work, so I'll say so long for now — I love you and think of only the time when we'll be together — the rest doesn't matter.

As always,

Lou.
