Dearest Darling,

Just one month from today darling and our worries should be over. Won't that be the day! 'Spect I'm in, or at least on my way, to the old dog house for not writing sooner but I wanted to wait till I talked to the Chaplain and I didn't get an appointment with him until last night. Saw Chaplain McCarthy and he was swell. He gave me all the information and we had a nice talk. His list of the things we'll need is about the same as the one you sent but not quite as long. Here it is as he wrote it:

1) A recent baptismal certificate for each of us.
2) A letter from your Pastor giving a priest here permission to officiate at the wedding.
3) A written statement from your Pastor that you are free to marry.

He also wanted our mothers' maiden names and I couldn't think of your mother's so you better let me know what it was. He suggested we be married at the chapel here on the post instead of in Harrisburg. I asked him about that because it's going to be pretty hard to get around here at Camp without a car, and the bus service isn't too good. However, the guest house is right near the Chapel so if our mothers do come down they can get rooms there and Father said he'd arrange something.

This letter is going to be a real "quicky" because I'm writing over here at the dispensary during working hours and I've got to jump up every two minutes. I want to get it in the mail this morning though and will write a longer one tonight.

That job you have out at Kohler sounds a little rugged — I know just what you do 'cause I did work in the K.E.P. for about 3 mos. Say hello to Al Alf for me — he's a good old boy. So-long for now darling, I'm waiting on just one day— June 5th.

I love you

Louis
